One of our core values is to include youth in the design of our work. We hope to amplify their voices, understand what resonates (or doesn’t) with youth and solicit feedback, in general. These volunteers have agreed to provide feedback to make sure our programs work with their peers. We welcome their insights and energy!

Ana Ester
My name is Ana Ester. I am a Liberal Arts Major student at Umass Dartmouth, with a concentration in Political Science, and Sociology. T hroughout the years I faced a lot of downs in my life with a few ups. Many times I faced desperation, oppression, and not everybody wanted me to excel. However, the only thing that kept me excelling in life has been my education. I tried everything, but nothing really worked. However, education became my salvation. Through College Now, I was invited to attend the "Share the Dream Banquet", and there I heard one of the Speakers say something that was an important point in my life that I was trying to find out why only education was working for me. The Speaker said that nobody believed he could make it, he felt oppressed, but he faced OPPRESSION WITH INTELLIGENCE. And that's why I realized why only education has been working for me. When God wants you to excel in life, He will show you the way. I learned on that Banquet to face oppression with intelligence, and education is the way to shape our intelligence.

Last year we had to do a project of what effects the youth in the world and my project was about youth depression and suicide. I did a video with my partner at school I attached so you can see our video. I would like to thank you in advance for letting me being part of the student advisory. Thank you have a great day!
